VMD has successfully provided program management support to federal government as well as commercial clients using PMBOK mandated processes & guidelines, and best practices. The projects have been diverse in nature and in the software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, Agile) and best practices (e.g. ITIL) adopted. For example, VMD is currently assisting the FAA Workforce Management Tool (WMT) initiative using structured PM process groups while incorporating the FAA AMP Lifecycle Management Process.
Program management support includes deliverables in the Initiating and Planning phases (development of Business Domain Model, Vision, Business Case, Resource Management Plan, Risk Management Plan, Communications Plan, Quality Management Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan, Change Management Plan) as well as support in post-Planning phases of Execution, Monitoring & Controlling and Close-out (Change Control Management, Schedule Control Management, QC Management, Cost Control Management/EVM, Resources Management, Performance Management). Program Portfolio Management support includes Asset portfolio as well as Project portfolio related activities. In addition, OMB 300 related documentation is developed and updated as required. Various analytical reports (Gap analysis, Critical Success Factors, Key Performance Indicators, ad hoc financial models) are developed to supplement above-mentioned deliverables. Ongoing logistical support and coordination is provided through all process groups.
