Vienna, VA - VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. (VMD) of Tysons Corner, VA today announced that it has received a contract to continue to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM). This contract represents the second phase of an initiative to modernize CFM's internal support and reporting systems.
The VA's CFM manages and administers all VA construction projects and maintains a comprehensive inventory of VA Capital Assets. CFM tracks and analyzes individual and composite project information as a routine part of its duties and prepares reports for VA and other federal agency management on construction projects, and maintains capital asset inventories using multiple VA internally developed and maintained Information Technology (IT) systems.
CFM has engaged VMD to continue its support of the phased modernization effort for CFM IT systems. The CFM Systems Modernization effort seeks to analyze, design, develop, and deploy technology and business process solutions that meet CFM's growing management needs. VMD worked on the initial phase of the modernization effort, which involved defining a vision for the overall CFM systems. Phase 2 of this effort includes the replacement of legacy IT systems through full lifecycle development of web-based applications and reports generation software.
