Vienna, VA — Deepti Malhotra, CEO of VMD Systems Integrators, Inc. of Vienna (VA) won a Stevie® Award for Technology Innovator of the Year in the recent Stevie® Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run - worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as “the business world's own Oscars.” (New York Post, April 27, 2005).
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners were announced during ceremonies at New York's Marriott Marquis Hotel. More than 180 nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries attended.
In winning the Stevie, VMD Systems Integrators beat out other finalists including Sun Microsystems, Constellation Energy, Fenestra, ALOM Technologies, and Strategy Solutions.
Stevie Awards were presented in 34 categories including Best Entrepreneur, Best Executive, Lifetime Achievement, and Women Helping Women. More than 600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
Ms. Malhotra was recognized as Technology Innovator of the Year for the innovative use of technology in growing the business. Ms. Deepti Malhotra is passionate about combining Information Technology and her background in Public Health to better serve VMD clients and their constituents.
VMD's eLearning solutions developed for clients such as the National Cancer Institute and Walter Reed Medical Center help to keep the medical and scientific community informed of relevant information critical to their missions. VMD leads its customers in information technology by example. In order to keep her small company growing, CEO Malhotra maximizes the value of her distributed consulting work force by mandating the use of a centralized virtual office. Employees benefit from the collaboration and organization of content in expediting the creation, editing and delivery of projects. The virtual office plays a critical role in VMD's responsiveness to clients.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging last Fall.
The elegant Stevie trophy was designed by R. S. Owens, the same company that makes the Oscar® and the Emmy.
